Heating Decoded Part Finder
In development. A companion app for identifying heating controls and components, with ControlSwap built in.

What Part Finder does
Most engineers have stood in front of an old programmer with a faded label, trying to work out exactly what it is before ordering anything. Part Finder is being built for that moment.
- Searchable heating-control and component information
- Manufacturer and product identification
- Filtering by component type and manufacturer
- Product details and reference information
- Saved and favourite products
- Links to selected merchant product pages
- A controlled catalogue of documented product identities
ControlSwap: identify first

What it does
ControlSwap is a feature inside Part Finder, not a separate app. It helps you identify the programmer or control that's already fitted, tell apart model variants that look alike, and review the documented information for it.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't promise that one product is a drop-in replacement for another, offer universal terminal conversions, or suggest wiring substitutions a manufacturer hasn't approved. Where a replacement has been documented and technically approved, it will be shown as exactly that, and nothing more.
Stock, prices and availability
Part Finder doesn't check live stock and doesn't guarantee prices or availability. Merchant links go to the merchant's own page, and the merchant's information applies there.

How it differs from the main app
The Heating Decoded app helps you understand and diagnose a system. Part Finder helps you identify the parts in it and find where to get them. They're separate apps, and Part Finder's commercial arrangements haven't been finalised.
About the main appQuestions people ask
Does Part Finder check stock levels?
No. It doesn't check live stock, and it doesn't guarantee prices or availability. Merchant links take you to the merchant's own page.
Will ControlSwap tell me what to replace a programmer with?
It helps you identify the programmer or control that's fitted and review the documented information for it. It won't present one product as a guaranteed replacement for another. Only documented, technically approved compatibility will ever be shown as such.
Which manufacturers will it cover?
The catalogue is being built from documented product information. We'll say which ranges are covered when it's ready.
Is Part Finder included with the Heating Decoded app?
No. It's a separate app, and its commercial arrangements haven't been finalised.
When will it be available?
There's no release date yet. It's in development.
